Dog Licensing

Online Licensing of Dogs is not an option after January 31st, of each year.

To license your dog, you must have a valid rabies certificate and if your dog has been spayed or neutered that certificate must also be brought in.

The State of Maine requires that dogs be licensed in the town of residence of the owner. Each dog six months of age or older must be licensed.  New dog tags will be available in the office by October 15th of each year and all dogs must be licensed by December 31st each year.

Dog licenses expire ON DECEMBER 31ST EVERY YEAR.

Cost for licensing Dogs are as follows:
Spayed/Neutered   = $6.00
Non-Spayed/Non-Neutered = $11.00

an additional late fee of $25.00 is imposed after January 31st of each year. 

Costs with late fees are as follows:
Spayed/Neutered   =
$6.00 + $25 = $31.00
Non-Spayed/Non-Neutered
= $11.00 + $25.00 = $36.00

PLEASE NOTE: We accept cash, checks, credit card & debit card transactions. Also, please be advised that our system is set up to automatically debit a 2.5% “portal fee” charge with a minimum charge of $1.00 for all charge/debit transactions.
