Local Health Officer

“In 1885, Maine’s Local Health Officers (or “LHOs) were established by Maine State Statute, and have been proudly serving the communities of Maine since their introduction. LHOs have been appointed by their municipality and serve locally after completing the state mandated training of certification as a Local Health Officer.

With the current Local Health Officers for the Town of Windsor having a strong community-based knowledge of the town to which they serve, they can effectively and efficiently respond and assist residents within the Town of Windsor facing a public health challenge. The LHOs can coordinate with the Maine CDC, Adult & Child Protective Services, and other public health professionals to better help serve and protect the residents of The Town of Windsor. With the common goal of caring and improving the health of Maine’s communities.”
